Thomas C. MooreProducer and Senior Recording Editor Producer and Recording Editor Thomas C. Moore is a founding member of the newly formed Five/Four Productions, Ltd. Prior to forming Five/Four, Moore was Producer/Sr. Recording Editor for Cleveland, Ohio-based Telarc International. In 2008 he won his fourth GRAMMY Award for producing “A Love Supreme” with the Turtle Island String Quartet. That recording won the GRAMMY award for Best Classical Crossover 2007. In 2005, Moore produced “4 + Four” with the Turtle Island Quartet and the Ying Quartet which won the 2005 GRAMMY award in the same category. That same year, he also garnered the nomination for Classical Producer of the Year 2005, and won Outstanding Producer of the Year from the OutMusic Awards held in New York City. In February 2003, Mr. Moore won two GRAMMY Awards for producing Ralph Vaughan Williams's "A Sea Symphony," a recording with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Robert Spano conducting. This recording was named Best Classical Album, 2002, Best Choral Performance, and also won a GRAMMY for Best Engineered, Classical. This year Mr. Moore has produced Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” with Christina Day-Martinson as soloist, and Martin Pearlman conducting Boston Baroque. A recording of works by Mozart written specifically for castrati with male soprano singing sensation Michael Manianci has also been recorded with the same group. Moore has produced a debut recital recording by phenomenal sixteen-year-old violinist Caroline Goulding due for release in August 2009. In addition to his work as a Producer and Recording Editor, Mr. Moore continues an active career as an oboist in the Cleveland area. Moore earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music. While at the Institute, his principal studies were with renowned teacher and former Cleveland Orchestra Principal Oboist John Mack. In 2007 Mr. Moore was awarded the Cleveland Institute of Music's Alumni Achievement Award. Prior to attending the Cleveland Institute, Mr. Moore received his high school diploma from the North Carolina School of the Arts with an emphasis on oboe performance. He has served as Principal Oboist with Red {an orchestra}, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Ohio Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Opera Orchestra, Cleveland Ballet Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra. He has been invited to play with The Cleveland Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in New York City. He has performed extensively throughout Europe where he served as Solo First Oboist of the first Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. While there he worked with conductors Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celebidache.
